Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System
( RS & GIS Cell )
Remote Sensing and GIS facilities at HQs of the Institute were initially developed with support of ICIMOD,Nepal, and later on strengthened through various research project as well as Institute's activities. The RS & GIS lab has facilitated various in house /externally funded research activities at the Institute through adding new dimension in research and by developing human resources through capacity building of Scientists /Academicians /Young Researchers of various organizations including Universities in the Indian Himalayan as well as outside the mountain. These facilities contribute in research, capacity building, and income generation for the Institute.
